Our client Grupo Jorge Ordoñez,with the support of lots of friends, triumph in Marbella(19thJune2013) |
We have just launched our customer Group of Cellars “Malaga Wine Company” and its new distribution company in Malaga; the event took place in the magical setting of Marbella´s Hotel Puente Romano, with a huge success and great welcome. Everybody was there, and those who could not attend called us to offer their congratulations. It was an exciting evening ; the tastings started at 4 p.m. and finished at around 10:00 p.m. We were welcomed by the Mayor of Marbella, Maria Angeles Muñoz, a professional with whom I shared my early career in the world of medicine. Many other authorities from the region attended the event, including the Mayor of Estepona, José María García Urbano, 1st Deputy Mayor of Velez Malaga, the city where our winery is located, Manuel Gutierrez, The 1st Vice President of Malaga, Kika Caracuel, and the deputy for Rural Economic Development, Leonor Garcia-Water, among others. |
We presented and offered our wines to the region's leading sommeliers, headed by the President of the Association, Juanmi Rubio. Everyone was impressed with the high quality and great personality of the wines. Those responsible for nearly one hundred restaurants in the Costa, participated in the tastings, like the owner of la Taberna Volapie, Angel Gutierrez. We were also accompanied by the General Secretary of the Regulatory Council of the Denomination of Origin “Málaga and Sierras de Málaga”, José Manuel Moreno. We chatted animatedly and shared experiences and dreams with all the sommeliers, like Paco Garcia from the restaurant “El Lago de Marbella”, or Pia Ninci from “Restaurante Messina”, (also in Marbella). It was very special for us to have the support of two of the greatest chefs of our region: Diego del Rio from “El Lago de Marbella” and José Carlos García, from the restaurant of the same name “José Carlos García “ both awarded with a Michelin star. It was also exciting to see the arrival of Charo Carmona and her son from the restaurant “ Coso de San Francisco” all the way from Antequera. We had a great time and got to talk about their project to produce wines. The press was there too, like the newspaper SUR, Maria Angeles Cervantes from SER Radio; Concha Montes and Rafaela Sanchez from Onda Cero Radio; Helana Olaya, who did an amazing job with all the photos, our German friends from the magazine AKTUELLE and from the Russian magazine La Vida Linda, Gabi Berner from SUR (German version) . From Marbella´s Townhall, we had Chela Figueira, responsible for communication. I cannot forget to mention dear Count Rudi, who was with us on behalf of Puente Romano, along with the hotel manager, Franck Sibille. At the event, we all agreed on the enormous potential of Malaga´s wine, catering and food industry, driven by its leading tourism industry. It was stressed that Malaga is a leader in producing great wines, has amazing sommeliers and chefs, and is one of the most important markets for wine distribution in the country. The evening was made even more special thanks to the enormous effort shown by the entire team of Jorge Ordonez leaded by the tireless Alicia Perez-Bryan. A unique opportunity to further articulate and strengthen the image of Málaga as a wine and gastronomy region. |
